What do I do after I have completed the course?

Once you have completed the course, the sky is the limit! Many people use the centre as a gym to keep up their fitness. During the course you will be introduced to the grading systems used in indoor climbing centres. The objective for many is to increase or maintain the grade that they are climbing at. The only way to do this is through hard work and training.

There are 3 different types of indoor climbing, Bottom Rope and Bouldering is what you will be taught during the course. Once you are competently Bottom Rope climbing at a grade 5+ or above, look into attending our Lead Lesson Course, this will enable you to make better use of our facilities.

There are a number of ways to meet climbing partners;
•    Keep in touch with the people you met during your course, they will probably be in exactly the same situation as yourself and they are also starting out at the same level as you which makes it a little less intimidating.
•    Come along to Members Night, be in the cafe at 8pm on a Tuesday or Thursday night and the instructor will partner you up with someone.
•    Get bouldering! You can boulder on your own, get chatting to other boulderers. Alot of the time they are bouldering for the same reason as yourself.

A lot of our members also use the facility to stay fit for outdoor climbing. Again there are a number of different types of outdoor climbing. During the warmer months we organise outdoor climbing sessions (more commonly known as Crag Sessions). Any level of climber can attend these. For more information go to 'Coaching and Courses' and look up 'Crag Sessions'.
